Curiosidade sobre a capa de A Saucerfull Of Secrets



Olá amigos e amigas do blogspot PINK FLOYD - PA, trago a vocês uma curiosidade um pouco antiga, mas que é bem interessante lembra, ou para quem não sabe, conhece agora.

Veja agora com essa noticia que achei, qual a ligação entre o personagem da MARVEL - Dr. Strange com Pink Floyd.

No ano passado, a Marvel Studios anunciou que Benedict Cumberbatch será o ator que iria interpretar o Dr. Strange, previsto para chega aos cinemas até o final de 2016. Mas como o assunto não é sobre o filme, e sim sobre o que o Dr. Strange tem em comum com o Pink Floyd, se você olhar atentamente para o cover do Pink Floyd - A Saucerful Of Secrets, você pode ver o Doutor Strange escondido no design inteligente da capa de Storm Thorgeson.



Sobre o personagem - O Doutor Stephen Strange, é um neurocirurgião que, após um acidente de carro horrível, descobre o mundo oculto da magia e dimensões alternativas e se torna o próximo feiticeiro supremo e protetor primário da Terra contra as ameaças mágicos e místicos.

Os veteranos da Marvel Comics - Stan Lee e Steve Ditko (que fez a arte) co-criou o personagem por volta de 1963 (eram a mesma equipe criativa por trás Spider Man).

Apenas alguns anos após Dr. Strange apareceu pela primeira vez em cena, em 1967, o Storm Thorgerson mais tarde usou uma imagem de Dr. Strange - tomado por base a capa de Strange Tales da Marvel # 158, ilustradas por Marie Severin e publicado no ano anterior - para a capa do segundo álbum do Pink Floyd.

Thorgerson, que morreu em 2013, falou sobre o projeto nesta entrevista de 2010:


"... A capa é uma tentativa de representar tudo que a banda estava interessada, tanto colectivamente, como individualmente, sendo apresentados de uma forma que era proporcional com a música".

Hypgnosis era o nome de trabalho para os designers criativos de Storm Thorgerson e Aubury Powell, sendo eles os responsaveis por fazer quase todas as capas de álbuns do Pink Floyd e as obras de arte dos encartes dos discos.

Além disso, Pink Floyd também fez outra referência ao Dr. Stephen Strange em sua canção "Cymbaline", na trilha sonora para o filme More, com essas letras “…and Doctor Strange is always changing size.”

8mm home movies filmed outside of Abbey Road Studios and on an unidentified beach. The footage on this DVD has been edited to the band’s second single, See Emily Play (edited version by HRV Records).

The Pink Floyd were filmed at former landlord Mike Leonard’s house for an edition of the BBC show, Tomorrow’s World. The band performed an untitled instrumental to accompany a demonstration of Mike’s sound and light experiments.

It was reported that this film was being viewed by the band at the Central Office of Information on 9 December, shortly after this song was recorded, for inclusion in a cultural exchange variety show.

Crystal Voyager is a 1973 surf film directed by David Elfick and was filmed, written and narrated by surfer, photographer and filmmaker George Greenough in 1972. The song Echoes is featured during the final sequence comprised of footage shot by Greenough from his surfboard.

Ian Emes’ first animated film, inspired by One Of These Days. The film went on to win awards across the world and lead to an invitation to work with Pink Floyd.

Comentário: Esse é um fabuloso disco lançando em 27 de setembro de 2011 no fantástico "bolo" do Immesrion Box Set. Esse disco é uma versão contendo apenas o The Dark Side Of The Moon de 1972, sendo um disco demo, que conta com a supervisão do Engenheiro de Som Alan Parsons. É um ótimo disco, aproveite e realize logo o download! Chamo a atenção de vocês para o seguinte fato, vocês vão se apaixonar ainda mais por The Dark Side Of The Moon! com o audio remasterizado e com todo o conhecimento de Alan Parson, as canções estão em ótima qualidade, dá para ouvi todos os instrumentos perfeitamente. Sugestão - escute essa belezinha em um som potente, chame os amigos ou curta sozinho em alto volume! Na canção "The Great Gig In The Sky" o vocal de Clare Torry não tinha sido incorporado a música, portanto, a música fica a cargo dos teclados do Richard Wright. O som de intro da  canção "Money" meio diferenciada.

a bela canção "Us And Them" começa um pouco diferente, no entanto, não apresenta grandes mudanças, o interessante desse disco, é que ele traz as versões anteriores de Us And Them, tipo o passo a passo do que seria a canção que conhecemos escute na ordem que está no disco (11. Us And Them (Richard Wright Demo); 12 - The Travel Sequence (Live 1972) e 13 - The Morality Sequence (Live 1972)). Em "Brain Damage" bem no fim da canção peguei foi um susto, haja risos de loucura, o que dá mais ênfase ao nome da música, adorei essa versão! Para finalizar o disco, Money em versão acústica, essa canção já é bem conhecida dos fãs de Pink Floyd.
